من نحن

The Water Research Foundation (WRF) invites proposals for a research project aimed at developing practical guidance to help utilities safely restore drinking water distribution systems following extreme events. The project will address the identification and categorization of extreme events, evaluation of system vulnerabilities, characterization of chemical, microbiological, and other contaminants, and assessment of treatment processes during recovery. It will also examine approaches for restoring system integrity and water quality, establish criteria for safely resuming normal operations, review public notification practices, and identify monitoring, sampling, and analytical strategies supported by relevant data sources and programs. The ultimate goal is to produce best practices and decision‑making frameworks that strengthen resilience and enable utilities to return systems to safe functionality, ensuring the lifting of public health advisories. WRF will provide up to $250,000 in funding for this project, which is expected to generate actionable guidance for utilities worldwide.
