The AI Partnership and Exchange for Tech Leaders (AI-PEX) is a program of the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh designed to strengthen collaboration between emerging Saudi artificial intelligence leaders and American experts. The initiative promotes professional networking, knowledge exchange, and institutional cooperation by connecting participants with specialists from the business, technology, and academic sectors. Through this program, Saudi AI professionals will gain exposure to U.S. technology standards and practices while building long-term partnerships with American institutions. The program seeks to foster meaningful engagement, enhance professional capacity, and encourage sustained cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.

The total funding available is $250,000, with individual grants ranging from $150,000 to $250,000. Supported projects are expected to advance professional networks, facilitate knowledge transfer, and strengthen institutional ties between Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations such as think tanks, civil society groups, and non-governmental organizations, as well as public and private educational institutions, public international organizations, and governmental institutions. Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to manage funds responsibly and deliver measurable outcomes. Proposals will be evaluated based on their ability to foster professional engagement, promote understanding of U.S. technology standards, and support sustainable partnerships between American and Saudi institutions.
