Call for Proposals: Scalable and Climate-Resilient Sustainable Cooling under EPIC Deploy
من نحن
The EPIC Deploy initiative, launched by the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), supports the development of scalable, climate-resilient sustainable cooling solutions. The program aims to transform commitments under the Global Cooling Pledge into practical, implementation-ready projects that deliver measurable energy efficiency, environmental benefits, and social and economic impact.
Funding is available for technically and financially viable pilot projects that strengthen climate resilience, improve energy efficiency, and promote replication and market uptake across eligible countries. The initiative focuses on two priority areas: the tertiary sector (hospitals, universities, and public buildings) to enhance efficiency, comfort, and resilience; and the industrial sector and cold chain (port infrastructure and food-chain logistics) to reduce losses, improve efficiency, and cut emissions.
Applicants may request grants starting from USD 200,000, with a maximum total project budget of USD 1.2 million. Projects must demonstrate clear environmental and energy-efficiency benefits while contributing to sustainable development goals in target countries.
معايير القبول
Eligible applicants are international consortia composed of at least one public, one private, and/or one research entity. At least one consortium partner must be based in one of the target countries: Kenya, Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia, or Brazil. Applicants are required to secure a minimum of 20% co-funding from their own resources or partner organizations. Proposals will be evaluated on technical feasibility, financial viability, and potential for replication and market uptake.
