The Santiago Network Secretariat, hosted by UNDRR and UNOPS, is offering a grant to support the preparation of the first regular report synthesizing global evidence, case studies, and lessons on climate-related loss and damage, with a particular focus on vulnerable developing countries. The primary goal of the program is to catalyze technical assistance and consolidate knowledge on economic and non-economic loss and damage across diverse regions, ecosystems, socioeconomic contexts, and event types. Eligible activities encompass analyzing inputs, synthesizing climate risk projections and solutions, developing and reviewing draft materials, and producing a main report of approximately 25,000 words, a concise policy action brief of up to five pages, supporting annexes, and an online repository (subject to budget availability). The geographic focus is global, with dedicated attention to developing nations particularly vulnerable to climate change. The maximum financial support available is USD 300,000, disbursed across three installments (30% upon selection, 40% upon delivery of the first draft, and 30% upon final approval), and the expected project duration is 15 months, running from April 2027 through June 2028.

Applicants must be registered Members of the Santiago Network or submit an expression of interest for membership before the proposal deadline and subsequently receive membership approval. Applications may be submitted by a single eligible organization or a consortium representing applicants from any country worldwide. Furthermore, applicants must demonstrate at least seven years of relevant institutional experience in producing comparable high-level reports and technical publications. Evaluation considerations will focus on the applicant's proven expertise in climate science, loss and damage research, and the quality and feasibility of the proposed methodological approach and budget.
