UNICEF, in partnership with ministries and universities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, is launching the Social Protection Research Initiative (KRISPRI) to advance evidence-based social policies addressing child poverty and social protection. The program supports multidisciplinary research through a competitive grant mechanism for both junior and senior researchers, fostering collaboration between academia and government, and promoting policy-oriented studies that inform social protection reforms. The selected NGO will manage and coordinate KRISPRI, including administration of research grants, transparent competition processes, coordination with partners, organization of events, and financial and administrative oversight. The initiative aims to strengthen research capacity, encourage dialogue on policy reforms, and ensure that findings contribute to the development of inclusive, effective social protection systems in the Kurdistan Region.

معايير القبول

Eligible applicants are national NGOs legally registered in Iraq with demonstrated experience working with UN agencies and strong partnerships with relevant ministries and universities. Applicants must show capacity in project management, coordination, and administration of large-scale initiatives, including transparent grant management and event organization. Organizations should have effective outreach and communication strategies, sector expertise in development and research, cost-efficient management systems, and robust governance and safeguarding practices. Proposals will be assessed based on technical expertise, proven delivery record, institutional capacity, and ability to foster collaboration between academia and government stakeholders.
