Indo-Burma Second Call for Letters of Inquiry for Biodiversity Grants
من نحن
The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF), in partnership with the IUCN Asia Regional Office, invites Letters of Inquiry for biodiversity conservation projects within the Indo-Burma Hotspot, covering Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. The program aims to strengthen civil society-led efforts to conserve globally significant biodiversity and address key environmental threats across the region. Funding is available for projects that safeguard globally threatened species through threat mitigation and population recovery; reduce biodiversity loss and health risks associated with illegal wildlife trade, unsustainable wildlife consumption, and disease spillover under a One Health approach; and strengthen the capacity, organizational development, and long-term effectiveness of civil society organizations working on biodiversity, community well-being, and sustainable livelihoods. Applicants are encouraged to incorporate gender equality and equitable access to capacity-building opportunities and, where relevant, align activities with the ASEAN Biodiversity Plan. Small grants of up to US$50,000 and large grants ranging from US$50,000 to US$250,000 are available for projects with implementation periods of 12 to 36 months.

Applicants must be locally based civil society organizations legally headquartered in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, or Vietnam. International organizations may apply only when working in partnership with local civil society organizations. Government-owned enterprises may also be eligible provided they possess independent legal status and the authority to receive private funding. Individuals are not eligible to apply directly, although they may participate through eligible organizations. Proposed projects must comply with CEPF’s social and environmental safeguard policies and must not include land acquisition, involuntary resettlement, alteration of cultural heritage sites, or other prohibited activities. During the assessment process, preference will be given to proposals that closely align with CEPF investment priorities, demonstrate strong potential for sustainable conservation outcomes, complement existing initiatives, present clear institutional capacity for implementation, and deliver strong value for money.
