Apply Now: Commonwealth Blue Charter Incubator (Round II)
من نحن
The Commonwealth Blue Charter Incubator (CBCI) 2027 provides grant funding to support government-led initiatives that address critical ocean challenges and advance sustainable blue economy development across Commonwealth countries. Established to accelerate implementation of the Apia Commonwealth Ocean Declaration, the programme supports innovative, practical, and scalable projects that generate evidence, strengthen institutional capacity, and catalyse future investment in ocean health and resilience. Priority areas include reducing marine pollution, restoring marine ecosystems such as mangroves and coral reefs, promoting inclusive and climate-resilient blue economy approaches, strengthening sustainable fisheries, and advancing ocean-climate solutions through adaptation, mitigation, resilience, blue carbon, and broader ocean-climate action. Grants ranging from £20,000 to £50,000 are available per project, with implementation periods of 6 to 18 months. The programme expects to support 10 to 15 projects, with selections anticipated by the second quarter of 2027. Activities may include research, pilot interventions, policy development, capacity strengthening, ecosystem restoration, knowledge generation, and other actions that contribute to sustainable ocean governance and blue economy outcomes within Commonwealth member countries.
معايير القبول
The lead applicant must be a legally established national or sub-national government entity within a Commonwealth country, including ministries, departments, agencies, or other public bodies with formal government status. While government entities must serve as the lead applicant, partnerships with non-governmental organisations, academic and research institutions, community-based organisations, and private sector actors are strongly encouraged to enhance project delivery and impact. Applications will be assessed on their potential to support implementation of the Apia Commonwealth Ocean Declaration, address priority ocean challenges, demonstrate scalability and sustainability, generate meaningful evidence or capacity-building outcomes, and contribute to long-term blue economy development and ocean health across the Commonwealth.
