من نحن

The Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund supports targeted, field-based conservation initiatives focused on protecting threatened species worldwide. The program funds projects involving critically endangered, endangered, and data-deficient species, including activities such as field surveys, data collection, habitat protection, and species recovery efforts. It supports conservation work related to animals, plants, and fungi, while also encouraging the professional development of conservation practitioners and initiatives addressing lesser-known or underfunded species. The Fund emphasizes practical conservation impact in natural habitats and primarily prioritizes single-species projects, although certain ex situ conservation efforts may also be considered. Grants of up to $25,000 are available per project, with larger projects eligible if additional co-funding is secured. Applications are submitted online in English with budgets prepared in US dollars. Funding rounds are generally held three times a year—typically at the end of February, June, and October—and proposals are evaluated competitively based on clear objectives, methods, and measurable conservation outcomes. The Fund does not normally support core organizational or administrative expenses.

معايير القبول

The grant is open to individuals, organizations, and research institutions worldwide that are directly engaged in species conservation activities. Eligible applicants may propose projects focused on the conservation of critically endangered, endangered, or data-deficient species involving direct, on-the-ground actions such as surveys, research, habitat protection, species recovery, and conservation management for animals, plants, or fungi. The Fund supports practical field-based initiatives across all geographic regions and species categories, including efforts targeting lesser-known or underfunded species and, in some cases, ex situ conservation activities. Applicants must submit proposals in English through the online application system, include project budgets in US dollars, and request no more than $25,000 in funding from the Fund, although projects may have additional co-financing from other sources.
