The Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Action Fund (WPHF) has launched a Call for Applications to support civil society organizations in Burundi working to advance conflict prevention, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding efforts. The call seeks to strengthen the institutional capacity of organizations contributing to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Agenda while promoting the meaningful participation, inclusion, and economic empowerment of women and girls in crisis- and conflict-affected settings. Funding is available through two streams: Institutional Funding ranging from USD 2,500 to USD 30,000 to help organizations restore and strengthen their operational and organizational capacities, and Programmatic Funding ranging from USD 30,000 to USD 200,000 to support projects that improve conflict prevention and resolution, advance peacebuilding initiatives, and enhance the social and economic empowerment of women and girls in Burundi. Applicants may apply to one or both funding streams using the designated proposal templates. Applications must be submitted online with all required supporting documentation, including proof of legal status.

Eligible applicants are civil society organizations operating in Burundi that are engaged in activities related to conflict prevention, conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and the advancement of women’s participation and empowerment within the framework of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. Organizations may submit only one application, either for a single funding stream or for both streams combined, provided that the appropriate application templates are completed for each stream. Applicants must submit all required documentation, including evidence of legal registration or legal status, through the designated online application system, as email submissions will not be accepted. Proposals will be assessed based on their relevance to the objectives of the call, the applicant’s capacity to deliver the proposed activities, and their potential contribution to peacebuilding, inclusion, and the empowerment of women and girls in Burundi.
