The EA Infrastructure Fund (EAIF) provides financial support to projects that strengthen the infrastructure of the effective altruism community by expanding access to talent, capital, and knowledge. The fund supports initiatives that use reason and evidence to maximize positive impact and advance the effective altruism movement globally. Funding is available for projects such as meta-charities, research organizations, community-building initiatives, academic engagement activities, public discourse efforts, fundraising initiatives for highly effective causes, and programs that improve community health and governance. Priority is given to activities that increase awareness of effective altruism principles, attract and develop talented individuals to address pressing global challenges, support cause prioritization research, strengthen decision-making communities, and foster healthy community norms. Grants typically range from USD 10,000 to USD 150,000, with awards above USD 300,000 being uncommon. The program has a global scope and supports projects that contribute to the long-term growth and effectiveness of the effective altruism ecosystem.

Applicants must demonstrate a clear commitment to using evidence-based approaches and have a strong potential to increase the community’s capacity, effectiveness, or impact. During the assessment process, proposals are evaluated based on their expected contribution to expanding effective altruism outreach, talent recruitment, research, fundraising effectiveness, community development, or community health. Applicants should present a compelling case for how their project will create measurable value and support the long-term growth of effective altruism.
