The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) provides financial support to non-profit organizations in Kenya to implement community-level initiatives that strengthen human security and improve living standards. The program focuses on addressing urgent local needs through practical interventions in education, health care, water and sanitation, and agriculture or fishery.

Eligible projects may include the construction or renovation of facilities, provision of equipment and furniture, and training or workshops that complement infrastructure or equipment supply. Funding is available for projects with budgets of approximately KSH 15 million, covering all necessary costs such as external audit fees and, where applicable, quantity surveyor fees.

The program supports initiatives that deliver tangible benefits to communities, enhance access to essential services, and promote sustainable development. Activities must be implemented within Kenya and directly serve grassroots populations.

Applicants must be non-profit organizations legally registered with the relevant government authority and operating for at least two years. Eligible entities include local authorities, educational and medical institutions, local and international NGOs, and public benefit organizations.

Applications from individuals, for-profit entities, or organizations lacking proper registration or land ownership documentation will not be considered. Projects with political, military, or religious objectives, as well as those focused on cultural activities, standalone libraries, dining halls, or kitchens, are ineligible. The grant does not cover administrative or recurring costs, profit-making activities, scholarships, consumables, general passenger vehicles, electronic equipment, or borehole drilling.
