من نحن

The Cultural Protection Fund (CPF) 2026 Funding Round invites registered organisations to submit Expressions of Interest for multi-year grants of up to £500,000 to protect cultural heritage at risk due to conflict and climate change while supporting sustainable social stability and economic prosperity.

The funding priorities include protection of archaeological sites and monuments, collections of objects, books or documents in museums, libraries or archives, historic buildings, cultural traditions such as stories, festivals, crafts, music, dance and costumes, living heritage related to specific sites, places or landscapes, histories of people, communities, places and events, heritage of languages and dialects, and people’s memories and experiences through oral history.

The Cultural Protection Fund (CPF) is led by the British Council in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and focuses on safeguarding cultural heritage that is at risk, particularly due to conflict and climate change. The fund aims to protect heritage not only as a record of the past but as a resource that supports identity, traditions, community connections and future generations.

The 2026 funding round is open for Expressions of Interest from organisations seeking multi-year support. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application. Organisations can apply for grants of up to £500,000, with expected awards including approximately seven projects receiving grants between £100,000 and £500,000 and 20 projects receiving grants below £100,000.

Projects must be submitted by one lead organisation with overall legal and financial responsibility for managing the grant. Organisations can be registered anywhere in the world, but projects must include partners registered in CPF target countries and demonstrate evidence of local demand and support for the proposed activities.

معايير القبول

Eligible applicants must be legally registered organisations and may include public or private organisations, provided private organisations do not make profit from CPF-supported projects. Sole traders are not eligible. Partnerships between organisations are encouraged and should be formalised through signed agreements.

The funding is available for projects in Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Libya, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, and Yemen. All projects must include the protection of living heritage and address urgent threats such as conflict-related destruction, loss of cultural identity, suppression of narratives, climate-related damage to heritage sites, threats to cultural objects, and the displacement of communities affecting traditions, skills, languages and cultural practices.
