The Australian Embassy in Beirut invites proposals for the Beirut Direct Aid Program (DAP), an initiative of the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The program provides grant funding to support community development projects that address pressing local needs across Lebanon. Through this initiative, the Embassy seeks to strengthen grassroots efforts that improve social and economic outcomes, foster resilience, and promote sustainable development.

Funding is available for small-scale, high-impact projects that directly benefit communities. Grants are designed to empower local organizations to implement practical solutions in areas such as education, health, livelihoods, social inclusion, and community capacity-building. Projects must be implemented within Lebanon and demonstrate clear, measurable benefits for target beneficiaries.

Applications must be submitted via the SmartyGrants online portal, which enables organizations to register, collaborate on proposals, upload supporting documents, and manage submissions efficiently.

Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations, civil society groups, and community-based institutions operating in Lebanon. Proposals should demonstrate strong community engagement, sustainability, and alignment with local development priorities. Applicants must submit complete proposals through the SmartyGrants portal before the stated deadline. Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered. Evaluation will focus on the project’s relevance, feasibility, impact, and capacity of the applicant organization to deliver results effectively.
